   People always say that the 11th Doctor doesn’t act like he loves River. While completely disagree, I think the Doctor is scared of falling in love with River, because he knows how she dies. It already hurts him because she is Amy and Rorys child, and she is his companion and wife, but the more he loves her the more it is going to hurt him when she dies. He’s just scared.
